Attorney Mathew A. Work was born in Henderson, NV where he was raised by his single-mother and grandfather. From a young age Mathew understood the value of education.
Mathew attended the University of Nevada, Reno and earned a degree in economics, graduating summa cum laude. While in college Mathew was a collegiate athlete playing both lacrosse and football.
After college, Mathew moved to Washington D.C. where he attended graduate school at American University. Mathew worked on Capital Hill as an intern. Mathew was able to work side by side with members of Congress.
Upon leaving Washington D.C., he attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law on a full academic scholarship and graduated magna cum laude. While at Thomas Jefferson he earned the Jefferson Award, Witkins Award, Cali Award, Deans List and was selected as a teaching assistant as a result of his academic success.
Mathew passed the Nevada bar on his first attempt and accepted a position as an associate attorney where he successfully defended criminal cases at jury trial.
Mathew was then offered a job as a criminal prosecutor. This experience was invaluable. Mathew spent years trying cases and prosecuting criminal charges. His ability as a trial attorney consistently earned praise from the Northern Nevada legal community.
Now Mathew is currently an active partner at his law firm Work Law in Reno, NV
Attorney Rebecca Carlson is a Nevada native born in Las Vegas. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated cum laude with a dual degree in Communications and Political Science.
After college, Ms. Carlson continued her education and attended Chapman University, Dale E.Fowler School of Law on an academic scholarship. Throughout law school, Ms. Carlson focused her education on alternative dispute resolution and received a certificate of mediation.
Ms. Carlson took and passed the bar in both California and Nevada on her first attempt. She previously worked as an associate attorney for a multi-state law firm and has experience litigating at both the state and federal level.
Ms. Carlson has quickly earned a reputation throughout the legal community as a dedicated, aggressive and sophisticated litigator.

Lauren was born and raised in Northern California and moved to Reno in 2017 upon receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada. Lauren accepted a position at Work Law in the Fall of 2017 as an unpaid intern.
Within a month, Lauren was promoted to Legal Assistant and within six months, she was the General Manager of the firm. Lauren has been vital to the growth of Work Law. In her spare time she enjoys painting and mountain biking.
Lauren will begin Law School in the fall of 2019.
Attorney Melissa Rosenthal was raised in the Reno area. She attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA where she received a degree in Business Administration.
Post Pepperdine, Ms. Rosenthal attended the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on an academic scholarship. Throughout law school, Ms. Rosenthal interned for both the Washoe County and Clark County Public Defender’s Offices and worked at the Nevada Federal Public Defender’s Office.
Ms. Rosenthal passed the Nevada bar on her first attempt. She previously represented children in dependency proceedings and has experience litigating cases in both family and criminal courts.

Outside of the firm, Ms. Rosenthal serves on the Board of Directors for the Reno Rodeo and enjoys supporting Nevada Wolfpack athletics.
Tanya Kazantseva was born in Russia, and raised in California’s Bay Area. Tanya attended college at University of California, Davis, earning Bachelor’s Degrees in Russian Studies and Sociology, Law & Society.
Following her undergraduate education, Tanya began her career as a paralegal for a bay area law firm, specializing in criminal defense and personal injury.
In 2017, Tanya continued her paralegal education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she graduated with top scores in Nevada Practice and Procedure and Tort Law.
After successfully completing her Paralegal Certificate, Tanya relocated to Reno and immediately accepted the position as Paralegal for Work Law. While working at our law firm, Tanya has specialized in defense and family law.
Outside of work, Tanya enjoys attending concerts, traveling to Tahoe and spending time with her fiancé and family.
A Nevada native, Casey Gillham graduated from the University of Nevada in 2003. In 2007, Casey continued his education at the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was awarded a Technology and Entrepreneurship Program Fellowship, was elected to the Moot Court Board, and received the Outstanding Oral Advocate Award at the Williams Institute’s National Moot Court Competition.
In 2010, Casey returned home and joined one of Northern Nevada’s most prestigious law firms, focusing his practice in the areas of civil litigation and employment law. In 2019, Casey joined Work Law as Of Counsel, where he advises both employers and employees on issues such as wrongful termination, sexual harassment, racial discrimination, Title VII, and FMLA.
In his spare time, Casey tries to give back to the community by volunteering with non-profit organizations, such as Community Health Alliance and BubHugs.
